On the chopping block! Jamie Dornan's scenes in Bradley Cooper's chef movie Burnt end up on the cutting room floor

Following roles in hit TV drama The Fall and the lead in Fifty Shades Of Grey, Jamie Dornan's career has been going from strength to strength.

However, it appears his latest cinematic performance won't be seen on the big screen after he was left on the cutting room floor.

The Northern Irish actor had a small cameo role opposite Bradley Cooper in upcoming comedy drama Burnt.

Burnt tells the story of Bradley's chef character Adam Jones who makes a second attempt to crack the restaurant business.

Jamie's character was believed to have been a rival chef who had a past with Adam's love interest Helene - played by Sienna Miller.

However, director John Wells confirmed Jamie's part in the film had been removed from the upcoming film.

John told Entertainment Weekly: 'In making every film, cuts and adjustments in storylines inevitably occur.

'In the case of Burnt, Jamie’s role was a small cameo that he was kind enough to do for us and was part of Sienna Miller’s character’s backstory.

'We ultimately decided to focus on Adam Jones’ redemption story.

Meanwhile, fans of Jamie won't have to wait too long as he has a string of films out over the next year, including war thriller Athropoid and Jadotville.

Jamie is also reprising his role as serial killer Paul Spector in The Fall next year and will star in the Fifty Shades sequels.

Burnt is due for release in the US on 23 October and UK on 6 November.
