Damian Lewis cuts a low-key figure in an all-black outfit as he flies out of LAX after Homeland narrowly misses out on an Emmy

His hit show may have failed to scoop an Emmy at the annual awards ceremony in Los Angeles, California, on Sunday but Damian Lewis held his head high as he left the host city the morning after the night before on Monday.

The leading Homeland actor cut a low-key figure as he was pictured heading into Los Angeles International Airport dressed in an all-black outfit.

Damian, 44, slipped on a pair of skinny jeans and a loose-fitting shirt which he wore partially unbuttoned to reveal some of his bare chest.

A plain blazer and a pair of suede shoes provided smart touches as he strode into the terminal building in the blazing afternoon heat.

Damian wore a pair of his many designer sunglasses to somewhat disguise his face.

The British actor chose to fly to his next destination solo as his wife - Helen McCrory - was nowhere to be seen after having accompanied him to the star-studded red carpet event the night previous.

Damian showed no sign of the night before as he resumed his jet-setting life.

On Sunday, he was the talk of the celebrity arrivals, rocking up with his stunning wife - who he married in 2007 - on his arm.

Dressed in a simply stylish black suit, he made sure not to steal Helen's sartorial moment.

Show off your layers of floral like Helen

Helen McCrory goes for some girly glamour at the Emmy Awards in a floral, silk organza, hundred tiered dress from Oscar de la Renta.

While the fabric and sweetheart neckline are beautiful, it's really all about that dramatic shape! The full Cinderella-inspired skirt is to die for and the structured bodice keeps things sleek. Unfortunately Helen's exact dress isn't available to buy but if you've got a big formal occasion in your diary, the place to go for a one-off piece that will help you stand out from the crowd is Neiman Marcus for it's selection of Oscar de la Renta pieces. She turned heads in a bandeau-style multi-coloured frock which featured a mini train however, she'd forgotten one key accessory - sunglasses.

Damian proved he was the perfect gent by lending his spouse his shades which left him squinting in the blazing early evening sunshine.

The London-born Hollywood star was nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or a Movie category however, this is still pending.
