Every teen idol fears becoming a flash in the pan.

But it seems Booboo Stewart has come up with a cunning plan to prevent this from happening to him - stripping off at every opportunity.

He certainly proved to be slimmer than the average bear when he pulled off his tracksuit top - which appeared to be part of a sweat suit to promote weight loss - after a gym session in Los Angeles on Thursday.

It looked like just an average day in the life of the teen wolf as he headed back to his SUV while dressed in a baggy black tracksuit.

However it seems he soon realised he had an opportunity to win some easy publicity, as he stopped dead when he noticed the waiting photographer and pulled his jacket over his head, revealing the bare chest underneath.

The 18-year-old certainly seemed proud as he showed off his torso before hopping into his car and speeding off.

The cerebral star, whose birth name is Nils Allen Stewart Jr, recently gave an insight into his techniques on-set and shared his thoughts on method acting.

Maybe he is just getting changed: The teen wolf seemed to be looking into his bag after taking off the top

He said: 'I don’t think I could ever do that. So for me, I like to break in-between takes just because it releases and I get to be myself and then I go back into it. So nothing too hardcore.'

Ironically he also said his acting inspirations were Passion of the Christ star Jim Caviezel, Walk the Line favourite Joaquin Phoenix and Dark Knight actor Heath Ledger, who are all famous for going the extra mile to get into their roles.

However he did say he had plenty of fun honing his chops alongside Danny Glover on the interestingly titled Space Warriors.

He said: 'Something I got to do being at Space Camp was scuba diving, and I think that was one of the coolest things I think I’ve done in my whole entire life.'

No such luck: Instead of pulling out a T-shirt he decided to ram his jacket into his sports bag

And off he goes: But Booboo made sure to work it for the cameras as he clambered into his SUV

I actually went to see Breaking Dawn Part II last night and we saw the name Boo Boo come up on the screen in the credits. We laughed out loud that anyone would want to use that name as an actor. He sounds (and actually look, from the photos) like an immature little boy. I don't even remember him on screen. He think he was maybe one of the teen werewolves but I could not swear to it. I am sure he would be pleased to hear that his part was so memorable. Delusions of grandeur methinks.
