Nile Ranger posts video of him running up sand dunes in Blackpool training gear despite having no future with Seasiders

  • Blackpool outcast Nile Ranger is building up his fitness with shuttle runs
  • But manager Neil McDonald has stated the player has no future at the club
  • Ranger failed to show up for the first day of pre-season in the summer
  • Blackpool currently prop up the third tier of English football with one win

Nile Ranger still has no future at Blackpool despite being videoed training in the club's kit this week.

The 24-year-old striker uploaded two posts to his Instagram account on Tuesday which showed him in Seasiders attire while running up sand dunes.

Ranger failed to show up for the first day of pre-season earlier this summer, despite the League One club surprisingly taking up the one-year option on his contract, and manager Neil McDonald informed the ex-Newcastle and Swindon man he would not be given another chance when he eventually returned to Bloomfield Road.

And McDonald insisted at his pre-match press conference on Thursday that that stance had not been shifted and that a first-team return for Ranger is still not an option.

'There's no U-turn; he's got no future at the football club,' McDonald, whose side currently prop up the third tier, told BBC Lancashire.

'Through his contractual obligations we have to try and get him fit, when he turns up, if he turns up, whenever he turns up. We're available for him but he won't train with the first team and he won't train anywhere near the ground.

'As I said two months ago, he's got no future as long as I'm the manager here.'

Ranger has not played for Blackpool since November and has angered a series of managers since with social media rants and by going AWOL.
