The administrator of Luton Town is confident new funding will soon be found which would prevent the club from being forced into selling any more players.

Brendan Guilfoyle confirmed "more than one" bid has been received for the troubled club and that talks were ongoing.

He said: "I sense the need to get there as early as we can and I am hopeful that within the next week we can get to that stage," said the joint administrator.

"We are where we wanted to be but there is still work to be done to bring the deal to a binding contract. They have shown us that they have the money but now we need them to open their wallets."

Television presenter and Luton fan Nick Owen has confirmed he is fronting a bid for the club. He said: "I cannot wait for us to get the go-ahead - I'm very hopeful."
