The reigning world champion saw his lead over Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg whittled down to 41 points after a mechanical problem forced him to retire while fourth in the race in Singapore.
However, the 30 year old seemed to be back on track after sharing an Instagram picture of himself posing alongside what appears to be a Mercedes Maybach S600, accompanied by the caption: 'My new whip!!! #Maybach #Boss #Mercedes'.

The German built luxury car carries a price tag of around £165,000 and has also been favoured by big spending boxer Floyd 'The Money' Mayweather.
Hamilton is preparing for to defend his title at the Japanese Grand Prix this weekend, although the British driver thought he would be arriving at the Sazuka Circuit having won in Singapore.
'I was feeling super optimistic,' Hamilton said.
'I was on the prime tyres and the three cars in front were on the options but I was easily keeping up with them and thinking 'we have a race on our hands'.
'They were telling me to change all these things and then I was overtaken by two Manors so I knew l was last. When they started to pull away, I knew it was over.'
