Button noses are out, big noses are in! Fashion’s newest beauty trend is hooked, crooked and all around large

The tiny, straight, button nose has long been the staple of the fashion female facial structure, but this season, there is a different profile on the rise.

From Dior and Proenza Schouler to Yves Saint Laurent and Kate Spade, noses are big in this season's fashion campaigns, with many models sporting snouts of larger-than-usual proportions.

Grazia is calling it 'The New Nose' - where it’s deemed the bigger the better.

One of the models of the big-nosed persuasion singled out by the magazine is Australian model Julia Nobis, who is currently starring in the multi-model adds for Dior, pictured in a pair of mirrored sunglasses, her prominent nose clear in near-profile perspective.

Anne Catherine Lacroix, a veteran Belgian model, is another lovely lady named as an example. With an asymmetrical jawline and a crooked nose, she is far from the conventional model look, but has maintained a steady, successful career.

Anne and her unique nose are currently staring in the new Proenza Schouler advertisements.

The new ads for Kate Spade's tartan-infused fall campaign also have no shortage of well-endowed visages, including artist Anh Duong and sex blogger Karley Sciortino, who recently stated: ‘People with small noses are cute. People with big noses are beautiful.’

The 44-year-old Sofia Coppola has one of the most distinct beaks in the business, and so striking is her profile, that designer Marc Jacobs was enthralled with her when he met her early on in his career.

'Sofia was one of the few who recognized something special and related to what I was doing at that time. She wanted to meet me, and when we did, it was love at first sight for me!' the designer recently wrote on Instagram.

'Not only was I attracted to how she looked, her sense of style, I was drawn to her manner. Her behavior, her life, her ambitions and creativity... She represented everything I am drawn to - Talent, style, creativity, a unique "vision and voice". She had then and has now an interest in fashion not as an art but rather part of the "art of living".'

Although the director has starred in several projects by Marc, she was recently styled to the hilt and snapped in profile, her distinctive silhouette emphasized in a manner that, according to Grazia, begs the question: 'Have try-hard selfies killed off the straight-to-camera pose?'

Whether the tides have truly turned yet or not - the seemingly increasing inclusion of varied profiles is hoped to keep more prospective models from going under the knife in the name of fashion.
