And while Noel's former band Oasis are undoubtedly a legendary act, his new project Noel Gallagher's High Flying Bird's received nominations for Best Album, Best Solo Artist and Best Act In The World Today.

And despite having left Oasis in 2009, the 48-year-old found himself embroiled once again in the band's legendary rivalry with fellow Brit Pop alumni Blur who were nominated in two of the same categories.

The band were nominated for both Best Album and Best Act In The World, potentially sparking old rivalries.

And while the likes of Florence and Ed are the most famous faces to be in with a chance of winning, the awards have also seen a plethora of young British talent lead the nomination for the Q Best New Act.

Indie-rockers Wolf Alice, Hold Back The River chart-topper James Bay, Hold My Hand belter Jess Glynn and BBC Sound Of 2015 winners Years & Years are all in with a chance of winning the gong.

The music bible's senior editor Matt Mason said: 'These nominations represent the very best talent from another inventive and exciting year for music.'

Voting is now open for each category at the awards and fans can cast their ballot on Qthemusic.com, while the winners will collect their gongs at a star-studded event on October 19.
