'I don't need you to tell me how to be a mother': Coco Rocha slams critics shaming her for not breastfeeding her baby and says 'there is no perfect way of being a parent'

She's been cherishing motherhood since giving birth to her daughter Ioni in March earlier this year.

And while Coco Rocha is thrilled to openly share her parenting journey with fans on social media, the 27-year-old says she doesn't welcome negative comments, especially those relating to her decision to cease breastfeeding her six-month-old girl.

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia on Thursday ahead of the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Sydney, Coco said she has a message for her critics: 'I don’t need you to tell me how to be a mother'.

Snatch up some architectural heels like Coco

Coco Rocha is slamming her critics and doing it in high style, snapped here ahead of Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival in Sydney. We are drooling over her black-silver-and-gold high-heel sandals.

These could very well be one of the most exquisite shoes of the season. They are, of course, Salvatore Ferragamo's 'Lenny' sandals. We love the silver and gold against a black background as well as the silver and gold stacked wedge. They have an Art Deco feel, like the Chrysler building in New York. They also have echoes of the iconic rainbow colored stacked platform shoe Ferragamo made in the 1938 for Judy Garland.

We just have to have them. And, fortunately, for us, they can be had at Farfetch for $1568.05, if you click right.

If you'd rather eat and pay the rent, see below. We've rounded up some alternative black-and-gold options, including a bargain at Off 5th!

It was just earlier this week when the mother-of-one was attacked for not breastfeeding her child.

On Monday she shared a post praising the GoButler app for delivering her formula for her daughter Ioni, while on vacation in Hawaii.

However, the seemingly innocent picture of Ioni drinking from a bottle prompted many to shame the new mother for giving her daughter formula as they touted the benefits of breastfeeding.

Coco quickly responded to her critics, writing: 'I loved breastfeeding Ioni for the first 5 months of her life and then one day my milk went dry'.

Opening up to Daily Mail Australia on Thursday, Coco said: 'My story was I wasn't able to make milk any more so I thought fine, I’ll share that story'.

'I’ll tell you that unfortunately I can’t make milk any more, and my baby has to eat to survive and therefore she must have formula,' she continued.

'After explaining that, I didn’t feel I needed to explain it any more. So for the trolls out there, you will be removed. I don’t need your comments. I don’t need you to tell me how to be a mother.'

Following the social media ordeal, Coco says the mother-shaming culture in society has became more apparent to her.

'There's people out there that have decided that their voice should be heard and they should tell you what to do,' she explained to DMA.

'And I believe in that if you have something you want to share, you share it and tell them how it was great for you, but you don’t push it on anyone else because really it might not work for them.'

Sharing some valuable advice she was given during her pregnancy, the runway sensation said one mother told her 'don't take anyone's advice'.

'She said "there is no perfect way of being a parent, no one has done it",' Coco revealed.

'There is not this secret of motherhood that someone has written a book and they did it exactly right. Everybody is different, every mom is different, every situation is different. So yes it could have worked for them but it might not work for you.'

Since welcoming her little treasure with husband James Conran in March, Coco has been indulging in the positive aspect of motherhood.

'From day one she’s the best present that I ever have been given, and she’s such a good baby,' she explained.

Having brought Ioni to Australia while she is Down Under to promote Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival Sydney, Coco revealed her little girl has been very well behaved during the overseas trip.

'Of course she gets tired like a little baby but she’s just so sweet, just so much fun,' she gushed.

'People tell you when you be a mom it’s going to be so different and you hear it all the time... but really it’s been a lot of fun.

'In between these interviews I go back, I give her cuddles and kisses and then you feel alive again and then you get back to work again.'

With her mother having been a flight attendant, Coco herself got used to jetting around the world at a very young age.

And she hopes to give Ioni the same global exposure, saying: 'I’m lucky enough to bring her to work and I think that that’s so amazing. Until she goes to school she in fact can travel with mommy and daddy and be around us and I hope we get to do that for a very long time'.

The stunner is set to put her best fashion foot forward again at the festival's launch night, and admits there is one Australian designer who has definitely caught her eye.

'I would say Dion Lee is my favourite,' she revealed.

'When I was looking through the different designers that were going to be showcased, he definitely popped up.'
