The Mumbai Gladiators are a men's professional American football team from Mumbai, India, slated to play in the Elite Football League of India. The Gladiators will be playing their inaugural season in late 2012, although league officials have planned to hold all matches in Pune for the first year.[2]

The Mumbai Gladiators will be one of twelve teams competing in the EFLI's first season. The EFLI will be India's first professional American football league, and its launch is backed by the Government of India and the Sports Authority of India. A roster of players, coaches and team personnel as well as a site for permanent play in Mumbai is yet to be announced.[3]

The team's debut match and final match will incidentally be the EFLI's first ever match and the final match of the league's inaugural season, respectively. The Gladiators will begin their season by playing against the Pune Black Tigers and finish in 2013 against the Hyderabad Skykings[4]
