Zee Marathi (Marathi: झी मराठी) is India-based satellite television channel, which carries broadcasts in Marathi. Zee Network, India's leading infotainment network launched it in the year 1999. The channel was renamed from Alpha Marathi to Zee Marathi in the year 2004 now available Working Link now on www.blacktvlive.com.

The channel's tag line is "Mi Marathi Zee Marathi".

The channel offers a range of entertainment bringing in soaps and reality shows that were unseen before on any Marathi platform. The first Marathi reality show – Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, the first popular travelogue of Maharashtra – Bhatkanti and the first literature based classic show- Nakshatranche Dene were conceptualized by Zee Marathi.

Zee Marathi has launched 2 new shows: Jai Malhar & Nakshatra.

Jai Malhar ...!:

The new series is based on the life of Khandoba who is considered as an incarnation of Lord Shiva. It is said to be the most expensive Marathi television show so far. The series is produced by Mahesh Kothare who has spent around Rs.1.30 cr alone for constructing the show's set in Goregaon filmcity.[4]

Nakshatra:

Maharashtra has a very rich tradition of theatre and has produced some great personalities. Zee Marathi is showcasing some of these classic plays on television every Sunday in the month of May 2014. Plays showcased: 'Kusum Manohar Lele', 'Ranangan', 'Vahato Hi Durvanchi Judi' and 'Sangeet Sanshay Kallol' .

Annual Events[edit]

Every year Zee Marathi hosts Zee Marathi Awards & Zee Gaurav Puraskar. Zee Marathi Awards felicitates the excellence in television shows whereas Zee Gaurav Puraskar awards for the excellence in Marathi theatre & cinema in various categories. In 2013, Zee Marathi launched the ‘Unch Mazha Zhoka Puraskar’ as a platform to recognize the work of women across various fields and to bring out their outstanding stories that would enlighten and enrich the people of Maharashtra.
