California man credits $1m lottery win to his interaction with an online psychic who told him 'your money is coming'

  • Kevin Millard, 54, matched five out of six numbers during last Saturday night's Powerball - making him the winner of $1,009,368
  • He only bought the ticket because an online psychic told him he would soon be wealthy
  • The Los Angeles man is now deciding how to spend his windfall, saying: 'I don’t want to squander it'

A California man who won $1million in the Powerball lottery claims he has an online psychic to thank for the windfall.

Kevin Millard, who lives in West Hollywood, matched five out of six numbers during last Saturday's game - making him the winner of $1,009,368.

Millard, 54, told KTLA that he usually only buys a ticket when there is a large jackpot - and that last weekend's $208million jackpot normally wouldn't have been large enough to convince Millard to play

However, an online psychic's messages saying: 'Your money is coming,' pushed him to buy several tickets.

He explained: 'She would hit me periodically with messages saying ‘Your money’s coming. This year is a change for you."

'I thought, "I gotta play a lottery ticket. Maybe she’s right."'

He had signed up for a free trial with the online psychic and decided not to continue with her services once the trial ran out.

But he just couldn't get her prediction out of his head, so he bought ten Powerball tickets at Gold Rule Liquor in Santa Monica Blvd in Los Angeles. He had never shopped there before.

One of those tickets had all the winning numbers except for the Powerball number.

Millard said he doesn't know how he will spend his new fortune and added: 'I don’t want to squander it.'

According to Millard's Facebook page he is currently shopping for a new car and deciding between a silver Maserati and a red Range Rover.

With no tickets matching all six numbers, the jackpot is expected to rise to $267million this Saturday.
