Dressed in a bright blue hoodie and tight black gym pants, the former Dawson's Creek actress plunged over a spray painted sign on the street that read, 'To The Moon.'

That's exactly how Katie must be feeling right now as she has been in Brooklyn directing and starring in the dramatic mother-daughter film.

The former Mrs. Tom Cruise posted a photo of herself later on Friday overlooking the Hudson River towards the Statue of Liberty.

Katie has paired up with script writers, Jane Rosenthal and Josh Boone, director of The Fault in Our Stars on the film and Holmes talked about her experience working with the pair in an interview with Variety last year.

'I am very excited and honored to be collaborating with Jane and Josh on this project and look so forward to bringing Annie’s incredible characters to the screen,' she said.

Rosenthal added, 'Katie has such a clear vision for the book’s irreverent, original mother-daughter relationship.'

'Her passion for the material, along with Josh Boone’s ability to tell stories grounded in the comedy and drama of everyday, will truly bring these characters to life,' she continued.
