From sweaty to suave! Hugh Jackman pounds the pavement before changing into sharp James Bond inspired suit

Fifteen years playing the ultra ripped Wolverine have meant Hugh Jackman has had to keep in top physical shape.

And despite planning to give up the role after he wraps up filming on the franchise's latest instalment, Hugh Jackman isn't letting his workout routine fall.

The much-loved Australian actor was seen pounding the pavement on the streets of New York on Friday before stepping out in a much more suave ensemble later that day.

Working up a sweat, 46-year-old Hugh was dressed in a black Adidas jumper, metallic shorts with a reflective sheen and compression leggings.

He clutched a drink and a manila folder while his eyes were shaded with a pair of aviators.

And it seems the Hollywood hunk's routine is paying off after he was seen in a radical outfit change just hours later.

Looking perfectly buff, Hugh was dapper in a grey suit and jacket and a crisp white shirt unbuttoned at the collar.

A pair of shiny black dress shoes added yet more class to his look and his hair was combed back in a neat style.

In a recent interview, Hugh revealed that he would love none other than British actor Tom Hardy to take on the mantel of the clawed X-Man when he quits the role himself.

'I haven't really given it a lot of thought. I don't want to make it too easy on the studio to replace me,' he told MTV.

'I've still got one more to do. I am sure they are already talking about it. There is some actor out there who's like [they've told] "shh, keep it quiet but we want you next."

'He's younger than me for sure. I think Tom Hardy would be great.'

Hugh has spoken about how he gets himself in shape to star as Wolverine, completely changing his diet and working out to a very specific plan to get the physical look needed.

Although he tries to maintain a regimen which means when he is preparing to film it isn't so hard to attain a muscular frame, he exercises for two and half hours a day with a regime that involves a lot of squats and deadlifting.

He also changes his diet - eating up to 4000 calories a day which according to the actor involves: 'chicken breast, but steamed and no salt, and steamed spinach', while he also practices intermittent fasting.
