Fetty Wap was involved in a road accident in Paterson, New Jersey while riding his motorcycle on Saturday.

The 25-year-old rapper was seen laying on the ground as several people tended to him. He was then taken away in an ambulance.

Wap - whose real name is Willie Maxwell - 'tried passing one vehicle, he didn't see another coming in the opposite direction and they collided,' a source told TMZ.

He was conscious after the wreck but his injuries are not known. A source told TMZ Fetty is awake and 'doing fine' in the hospital but doctors are running tests.

Hours later his friend Jhonni Blaze from Love & Hip Hop NY posted a photo of the singer on Instagram with a leg brace and arm wrap on. She wrote in her caption, 'He's ok.'

It is not known if he was wearing a helmet.

Wap was one of two dozen artists performing at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater when the incident happened.

He was nicknamed Fetty (slang for money). The Wap part is a tribute to his favorite artist Gucci Mane.

Wap has glaucoma in both eyes. In 2015 he revealed he lost one of his eyes to the disease and now has a prosthetic left eye.
