Dad's doing okay! Ben Affleck cracks a smile as he takes the kids out for lunch and shopping... without estranged wife Jennifer Garner

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner have continued to put on a united front while tending to their children.

But Ben was spotted without his estranged wife on Saturday, as he took his three tikes - Seraphina, aged six, Violet, aged nine, and Samuel, aged three - to the Brentwood Country Mart in Los Angeles.

The trio, along with their new nanny, enjoyed lunch and some shopping together.

The kids appeared to have even been treated to some goodies from Toy Crazy, as a brown paper shopping bag from the retailer was spotted on their table.

Scruffy-faced Ben dressed down in a plaid blue blouse, jeans, and trainers. 

Though he is surely going through a stressful transition, he did manage to crack a smile as he chatted with his children in the parking lot.

The Argo star does have a lot to look forward to, as Deadline reported on Friday that he and his BFF and colleague, Matt Damon, are teaming up for another project.

The two will produce the HBO movie Thirst, which is set against the backdrop of the global water crisis.

2016 also sees the Oscar winner in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and The Acountant

Meanwhile, Ben has been in the news all summer for his split from wife of 10 years Jennifer Garner.

Their breakup got worse when a report surfaced that he had started a romantic relationship with the nanny to his three children,  Christine Ouzounian.

Affleck's team said the report was 'garbage.'

The pair have since been getting along well, spotted together on multiple occasions.

Just this past week, they were seen in a car together, at a farmers market and also at Nobu in Malibu.

People has claimed that the two will not reconcile.

Both were previously seen without their respective wedding rings, but Jennifer has been wearing her's again - on her middle finger.
