'Husband holds the key' to mother-of-three who disappeared six months ago without a trace

  • Danielle Sleeper, 32, was last seen at her home in Magnolia, Texas in March of this year
  • Her husband, Austin Sleeper, told authorities she was sleeping when he left that morning
  • When he returned her car was outside but purse and phone were also gone
  • Her mother and sister believe the loving mother would never 'just walk away' and leave her boys
  • Other family members believe her husband, Austin Sleeper, holds the key to solving the disappearance

The husband of a woman from Texas who disappeared earlier this years, could hold vital clues that explain her disappearance.

Danielle Sleeper, 33, had talked about divorcing her husband of five years, 32-year-old Austin Sleeper, before she disappeared in March.

She apparently had a fight with her husband the night before she vanished, friends said.

So far, volunteers and family members have failed to find any trace of the missing mother of three.

Adding to the suspicion, her husband didn't take part in any of the searches to find his wife.

'I wish I didn't have that feeling, but I do,' Dina Street told The Huffington Post. 'I've felt this way since the day my son-in-law told us she was missing.'

'My daughter had not been sleeping with him in the same bed long before she went missing,' Ms. Street said.

'She was extremely upset because Child Protective Services had removed her two older children from her home because of an incident involving her husband. She knew her children would never be allowed back in her home and she was not happy.'

Montgomery County Sheriff's Office, say Austin Sleeper is not a suspect or a person of interest in his wife's disappearance.

Mr Sleeper has said he does not know what happened to his wife. He told authorities his wife was asleep when he left their home in Magnolia.

When he returned in the afternoon she was gone, although her vehicle was still parked outside.

Sleeper's purse and cell phone were also gone, but her car was still parked in the driveway. The mother's medication, which she takes for seizures, was also left behind
Search and rescue organization EquuSearch have enlisted a helicopter, ATVS and more than 150 volunteers in addition to family members to help search for Sleeper

Danielle Sleeper's friend, Meagan Smith, told the Post that she was preparing to leave her husband.

'Danielle said he had done some things and she was trying to come up with a plan so she could get back on her feet and get her own place,' Ms. Smith said.

'We were going to work on her resume and get it over to this place that was hiring, but then this all happened.'

Danielle was last seen after leaving a cookout at Smith's home in nearby Waller County.

Danielle and Austin Sleeper came in separate vehicles, but left together.

Ms. Smith say the pair got into a fight outside and heard yelling and car doors being slammed.

The following day, family members went to her house to check up on her.

Dina Street (pictured), Danielle's mother, says she has a feeling that her daughter's husband, Austin, may  have something to do with her disappearence

Husband, Austin, apparently appeared nervous and agitated saying: 'Danielle didn't come home last night.''' Street said. 'He was extremely nervous and agitated and didn't want to report her missing. My husband and daughter told him he didn't have a choice -- either he reported her missing or we would.'

Ms. Street said the family's suspicions were heightened when they learned the couple's 3-year-old son was gone.

Austin's mother, who lives seven hours away in Louisiana, had showed up and picked up the child, turned around, and gone back home.

Ms. Street says she she doesn't believe her daughter left on her own.

'Danielle is a very warm, caring person to her family, children and strangers,' she said to Huffington Post.

'My daughter is extremely close to us and her children. She would never, ever leave her children.'

Danielle's family members have helped organize several community searches in the area, but husband Austin has not taking part in any of them.

'She's out there somewhere and we need closure,' Street said. 'I just need to know where she is. Her children keep asking for her and they need to know where their mother is. I've got two girls and half of my heart is gone. It is the emptiest feeling and it's with me every day. When I wake up she's on my mind all day long and at night I can't sleep. We just want her found.'
