Father launches legal battle against the government's ban on term-time holidays after he was fined £120 for letting his children go to Poland for three days

Noah Myers launches legal battle against ban on term time holidays for children

American-born Noah Myers, who lives in Brighton with his solicitor wife and their two sons, has given notice of a judicial review against the governors of his childrens' primary school after he was fined for taking them out of class during term-time. Mr Myers believes the strict rules introduced in September 2013 - which stipulate that children can only miss school during term time in 'exceptional' circumstances - are a breach of his human rights. He says the regulations - which he believes would never be allowed in the U.S - infringe his civil liberties under the Human Rights Act to decide which is in the best interests of his family. If the test case succeeds in court, it would be the first successful challenge to the rules since they were introduced.

After sending one another a string of flirty messages, the pair apparently began meeting at Mr Carr's rented home - which was opposite the £2m gated mansion that Carla shared with the TV host and their children - in June. According to Mr Carr, the pair had sex up to 20 times during 'six or seven' get -togethers before the affair became the 'talk of the town'. They last had contact last month, he claims. Kyle, 50, announced last week that he and Carla had been living apart since earlier this summer having 'sadly grown apart over recent years'.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Whatever you might think of Freddie Starr, it is difficult not to feel some compassion for him. The comedian was arrested four times during Operation Yewtree, the wide-ranging investigation into historic child abuse, but released without charge. Desperate to clear his name, he launched a libel claim against the woman who had pointed the finger at him. Karin Ward, a victim of serial sex offender Jimmy Savile, claimed Starr, a huge celebrity in the 1970s and a regular on primetime TV, shoved his hand up her skirt when she appeared on the BBC show Clunk Click in 1974 at the age of just 15. She also said he called her 'a t**less wonder'. Starr accused Ms Ward of lying and sought £300,000 for alleged slander and libel in interviews she gave to the BBC and ITV. But he lost. Now, overweight, beaten and broke, he is hiding out in an apartment on the Costa del Sol which has become, he says, a prison.
