She has not officially confirmed reports of an engagement, but it seems Liv Tyler wants everyone to see her new ring.

The Leftovers actress posted a selfie prominently featuring the large diamond band to Instagram on Saturday.

It emerged that day that the 38-year-old is engaged to sports manager Dave Gardner, following a proposal over Christmas.

Making no mention of her ring, Liv wrote to fans: 'Goodbye for now nyc!!! Texas here I come #theleftovers.'

But the posting came amid reports by People magazine of the pair's secret engagement.

Also on Saturday Liv shared a snap of her time in New York.

She and Dave were spending time in the city with Dave's best friend David Beckham, and shared some sweet images of their time together on Instagram.

Beckham is also godfather to Liv and Dave's son Sailor, and she shared some sweet photos of the soccer star posing with the baby boy.

'Sweet boys!!!' Liv captioned a shot of Dave and Beckham posing beside Sailor's stroller.

'Sailor having lunch with his daddy @davidgardner and his God daddy @davidbeckham.'

The Lord Of The Rings star also shared a sweet snap of Beckham bonding with his godson.

Liv and Dave went public with their romance in August of last year, and Liv confirmed her pregnancy the following month.

They welcomed their son Sailor in February.

Liv is also mom to 10-year-old son Milo, from her marriage to Royston Landon.

The actress and the Spacehog rocker split in 2008 after five years.

Speaking to More magazine this month, the actress shared her philosophy on marriage and relationships.

'I had this philosophy that you should only get married once,' she said. 'But then, of course, that changes.

'I definitely believe we have lessons we learn through our relationships. You're meant to work through and mirror each other.'

The couple currently divide their time between her home in New York City, his base in London and Austin, Texas, where she films her HBO series The Leftovers.
