Amir Khan could be set to face off with Manny Pacquiao early next year, according to the Filipino's promoter Bob Arum.
Arum described Khan as Pacquiao's key target for his first fight since he was beaten by Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas in May.
The promoter told the Sunday Telegraph: 'I'm in the process of having negotiations with Amir Khan's uncle and his lawyer, Robert Davis, and those negotiations are ongoing.

'I'm not saying necessarily that the negotiations will be successful, although I believe that everybody is negotiating in good faith. While those negotiations are going on, I'm not going to discuss any other opponent.
'There is a possibility that it could happen in Dubai, but I think it's more likely it will happen in Las Vegas.'
Khan had been hoping to fight Floyd Mayweather in the US superstar's final bout, but Mayweather instead chose to face Andre Berto, who he defeated earlier this month.
Bolton-born Khan, 28, could now face Pacquiao as early as February 2016, although April is still a possibility.
The exact date of the fight will depend on Pacquiao's recovery from injury, with the Filipino close to completing his recovery from shoulder surgery on a torn rotator cuff he suffered in the build-up to his fight with Mayweather.
Like Pacquiao, Khan has also only fought once so far in 2015, beating Chris Algieri by unanimous decision in May to retain his WBC Silver Welterweight title in New York.
