With his packed training and choreographing schedule, Derek Hough can't have much time for social visits.

So the 30-year-old's grandmother took matters into her own hands - and visited him at the Dancing With The Stars studio on Saturday.

Derek certainly looked delighted by his guest as he swept her off her feet with an enthusiastic bear hug.

The multi-talented dancer, actor and singer greeted his granny before he escorted her into the DWTS studio where he was training with his partner this season, Bindi Irwin.

Derek exited the dance studio and showed off his toned arms in a black tank with light denim jeans and black sneakers.

The Emmy Award-winning choreographer covered his blonde mane with a black and white baseball cap and took time to show off his hover board skills while he waited for his grandmother's arrival.

The new season of DWTS premiered two weeks ago and Hough's partner, Bindi is already making a name for herself on the show as a fierce competitor.

Hough, who has won a record five seasons on DWTS, is paired up with the 17-year-old Australian actress and daughter of the late Crocodile Hunter star Steve Irwin.

During the 20th season of DWTS this past May, Hough had to sit out a week due to a foot injury he suffered while rehearsing for their 10th anniversary special.

Bindi's beau: Irwin posted an Instagram pic with her boyfriend, 18-year-old wakeboarder Chandler Powell, who flew to Hollywood to show front row support for his girlfriend of nearly two years on DWTS

Hough was partnered with gymnast Nastia Liukin and while the pair made it to the semi-finals, they finished in fourth place.

While Derek is competing this season on the hit show he is still looking after his recent ankle injury carefully and has been icing it quite a bit lately.

But he isn't the only partner with injuries as Bindi also stumbled across a few bruises lately, according to E! Online.
