Sophia has often spoken of her desire to grow old gracefully, and it was plain to see she had stuck to her values, with just some rosy blush and pink lipstick enhancing her striking features.

'You have to follow the laws of life,' the grandmother-of-four said of getting older on Good Morning America last November.

'I like myself as I am. I like my skin. I don't want [a plastic surgeon] to take it away from me. So I couldn't do anything, really.'

Snap up a swing dress like Ludovica

Giorgio Armani unveiled his spring/summer collection today and, of course, numerous luminaries were in attendance. In addition to Sophia Loren, X Factor host Alessandro Cattelan attended with his girlfriend Ludovica Sauer and we love her powder blue, empire waist swing dress with black lace overlay.

Empire-waist swing dresses are one of the most flattering silhouettes around because they because they elongate the legs. They also make for great maternity dresses.

Ludovica's dress hails from the designer's pre-fall collection of this year as do her black satin shoes (shown right in red). Click right to view the entire collection or to buy a piece from this legendary Italian designer.

If designer prices are out of your range, see below. We've uncovered a number of blue swing dresses starting at only $20.

Sophia, best known for her roles in Two Women and Marriage Italian-Style, shockingly confessed last year that she was strongly advised by film industry bosses to have cosmetic surgery when she was starting out.

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar-winning actress said: ‘I always tried not to listen to these people

‘They were saying that my nose was too long and my mouth was too big. It didn't hurt me at all because when I believe in something, it's like war. It's a battle.’
