Bomb blast at flat

Six people have escaped injury in a pipe bomb explosion at a flat in Northern Ireland.

The device was pushed through a letter box at the property in Gough Avenue, Armagh city.

A door and a carpet were damaged, but the people in the flat were unharmed.

A motive for the bombing has not been established.

Meanwhile, arsonists have destroyed a classroom in a blaze at a school on the outskirts of south Belfast.

Forensic experts have removed several items for examination following last night's fire at Rathmore Grammar School, Dunmurry.

In a separate incident, offices in the Stranmillis area of the city were extensively damaged when a window was broken and the premises set alight.
