Debonair Matt Smith cuts a dashing figure as Prince Philip as elegant Claire Foy gets into the role of Queen Elizabeth II while filming The Crown

And Matt Smith and Claire Foy certainly looked the part as they filmed scenes for forthcoming 10-part Netflix series The Crown at London's Lyceum Theatre on Saturday night.
The former Doctor Who star is portraying Prince Philip in the biographical drama while period drama favourite Claire is assuming the role of Queen Elizabeth II.

Matt, 32, looked effortlessly suave in the 1940s garb which comprised of a classic white tie dinner suit, with a tailcoat and a dress waistcoat for the series, which is due for release next year.
He wore his hair slicked back in a dramatic side parting which added to the historically-accurate costume.
As the actor, who is dating Cinderella star Lily James, climbed into a classic car while filming scenes he laughed along with Claire.

Each season will dramatise a different decade in the Queen's reign, with the first run of episodes focusing on her coronation and her fledgling relationship with Churchill.
