How Brand Beckham is now worth half a BILLION thanks to a £40m-a-year boost from Victoria's clothes and Romeo's modelling (and they're now richer than the Queen)

  • Specialists at the London School of Marketing have compiled the data
  • Say it's clear brand Beckham is more than a retired footballer's family
  • Their children are also making waves in the industry

They're one of Britain's most recognisable families so it comes as little surprise that the Beckhams are thought to be worth half a billion.

As David, Victoria, Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper make waves across a multitude of industries, experts estimate that the value of brand Beckham is now at almost half a billion pounds ($771m).

Specialists at the London School of Marketing have compiled the data by looking at the different business ventures and the marketing value of the world famous family.

As Victoria's latest collection, which was recently presented at New York Fashion Week, firmly establishes her as a well respected fashion designer, it is clear that brand Beckham is a lot more than a retired footballer and his family, say experts.

Indeed, they estimate that brand Beckham generates between £30 to £40 million per year. If these figures are anything to go by, the famous family are richer than the Queen, who, according to the Sunday Times Rich List, has an estimated fortune of £340m.

The experts concluded that the Beckham marketing power resides in the family's three main corporate vehicles: Footworks, where David's football related revenues are collated, the Beckham label, for all their endorsements, and Beckham Venture, for Victoria's fashion business.

Current estimates put the value for Footworks at £150 million, the Beckham name at £70 million and Beckham Ventures at £60 million.

This, combined with their non-business assets of an estimated £190 million, puts the family name at a total value of £470 million.

Take your style to new heights in Victoria's Casadei heels

Like most fashionistas, Victoria Beckham knows what she likes and sticks to brands she’s well acquainted with. They so happen to be rather Posh, too.

The fashion designer loves an all-black outfit, but she isn’t just a creature of habit when it comes to her color palette. She tends to go back to the same designers (aside from herself) when it comes to her accessories, with Casadei being her fail-safe brand for dressing up to the nines.

Victoria loves the vertiginous trademark curved heel of the simple black stilettos, which epitomize her understated style down to a T. She usually wears the label’s trademark blade stilettos, but these ‘Cappa’ heels are making a statement of their own with their raised scalloped edge, translating the geometric futuristic Parisian couture vibe of Pierre Cardin.

The ultimate heel for a night out, there's no way you can go wrong with these heels and an LBD for the ultimate wow-factor. So get clicking to the right to snap them up now for $795.

Interestingly, researchers found that the Beckham label is now growing in value since David, 40, gave up his professional football career.

As David and Victoria have focused more on their respective businesses, both have seen increases in their profitability since 2012. In fact, the experts believe Beckham Ventures could achieve a three times multiple on turnover this year compared to last.

Whilst Victoria keeps busy with her booming fashion brand, David and Simon Fuller partnered with beverage giant Diageo to launch whiskey brand, Haig Club, he recently celebrated ten years of fragrances, has his own range with H&M and models for Belstaff.

But it's not just the parents who are making waves in the media. The eldest of the Beckham offspring, Brooklyn, has also caught the media's eye, appearing on the most recent edition of Miss Vogue.

In his interview with the international magazine, Brooklyn discussed how he's gained over four million followers on Instagram and shared his top tips with readers. What Brooklyn earns has never been reported but the future seems bright for the fledgling star, who has been mingling with the A-list in recent months.

And it's not just Brooklyn who's making the headlines. Last year, Romeo fronted the Christmas advertising campaign for fashion powerhouse Burberry, who claim he helped boost their sales by 14 per cent.

According to the Mail On Sunday, the gig earned him £45,000. For the day’s work involved, that puts him, hour-for-hour, among the world’s highest-earning models. For an eight-hour day, this would work out at £93.75 a minute.

Speaking about the findings, Chief Marketing Officer at the London School of Marketing, Anton Dominique, commented: 'The Beckham brand has been used to advertise everything from designer clothes, to satellite television and even whisky.

'What is also interesting is that the family name is almost as influential as any individual family member.

'For instance, Romeo Beckham won a very lucrative marketing contract with the fashion house Burberry.

'Additionally the Beckham name has the Midas touch when it comes to advertising, even the mere mention of their name associated with a brand is a small news event in itself.

'But it's not just in the headlines that the Beckham name is making money. Both the opening of Victoria's flagship clothing store in London last year and the positive response to her New York Fashion Week show prove how Victoria has shifted from 90's pop star to established fashion designer.

'After the Royals, the Beckhams are Britain's most recognisable family with a global pulling power that's almost second to none.'

Despite these figures, it has been noticed that David and Victoria are spending less and less time together and they both seemed downcast at Victoria's boutique's one-year anniversary last week.

Business, it seems, is business - and whatever is going on between them in their marriage, care is always taken to keep Brand Beckham afloat.

Whatever the state of their marriage, something the couple are both hopeful about is that David will pick up his longed-for knighthood in the New Year’s honours list.

A source intimately connected to the family told the Daily Mail's Alison Boshoff that the couple's marriage is not conventional and that they are apart a lot.

However, a spokesperson for the pair insists there is no reason to fear for the marriage. ‘It’s nonsense,’ she said. ‘Full stop.’
