She closed the penultimate night of the legendary Rock In Rio festival in Brazil on Saturday night.

And following her performance at the Rio de Janeiro music event, Rihanna made the short trip back to her luxury hotel in true rock star style - via private helicopter.

After wowing the 100,000 strong crowd at the Cidade do Rock (the City of Rock) venue in the South America city's Barra da Tijuca area, the 27-year-old pop princess headed back to her hotel for a well-earned rest.

But it would seem the rest and relaxation didn't last for long, with the Diamonds hitmaker later partying up a storm with friends including British supermodel Cara Delevingne.

Performing at the 30th edition of the world-famous South American music event, the Bajan babe hit the stage with a crowd-pleasing performance that finished in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Following her headline set the Unapologetic chart-topper, still in her billowing yellow trousers and black vest and multitude of expensive jewellery, flew back to the hotel alongside a small entourage.

With her long brown hair in falling in tangled tresses over her face and cascading down around her shoulders, the chart-topper didn't appear to mind her dishevelled post-gig appearance.

Clearly elated following her performance in front of the huge crowd, the pop siren looked elated as she flashed a huge beaming smile as she stepped out of the helicopter.

Wrapping the fluffy robe around herself as she walked across the hotel's helipad, Rihanna was clearly in a good mood, yet looked slightly fatigued.

Earlier on in the evening the singer had arrived on stage around midnight and performed a two hour-long set on the festival's Palco Mundo stage.

But while many of her fans had queued-up for hours before to get a decent place at the front of the barriers, her pal Cara Delevingne was afforded a VIP view at the front of stage with Grammy-winning singer pal Sam Smith.

Snapping a picture from her privileged vantage point, the 23-year-old model managed to capture a snap of the singer and her video image which she posted the next day.

Heaping praise on the singer, Cara wrote: 'So much love! I cannot begin to explain how much fun I had last night, this girl continues to blow me away with her talent and dedication and I am so proud of her.

Following the sixth day of the festival Cara took to Instagram again on Sunday as she flew out of the country.

Clearly having enjoyed her time partying alongside Rihanna and Sam, the model posted a picturesque and breath-taking view from the balcony where she snapped a selfie of herself and the Stay singer.

She caption the sunset scene: 'Thank you for having me Rio, it's been a wonderful trip. See you again soon! I ❤️ Brazil [sic].'
