They have reached a certain level of comfort with each other after being in a relationship for nearly a decade.

And Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson were clearly at ease as they enjoyed a day of shopping in New York together on Sunday.

The 39-year-old actress looked to be engrossed in her phone while Jackson, 37, chatted amiably with her.

The German model and performer wore a smart cap and her boyfriend's thick mustard coloured winter jacket on the outing.

Completing her getup was a stripy top and a leather skirt teamed with cat eye sunglasses.

Jackson, who starred on hit sci-fi series Fringe from 2008 to 2013, was casual in a grey jumper and jeans.

Earlier this week the couple's care for one another was on full display during another outing in the Big Apple.

The blonde beauty looked fashionable as always as she wore a grey wool blazer over a white T-shirt tucked into skinny blue jeans that were rolled up.

Diane also wore a pair of light brown suede booties and accessorised with a black newsboy spitfire cap atop her head as she walked around carrying the large black umbrellas.

Under the stylish headwear the Inglorious Basterds actress messily tucked her blonde locks into it as she wore minimal make-up on her face topped off with a swipe of shiny pink lip.

Joshua also showed his style in a mustard yellow zip-up jacket over a white shirt, blue jeans and light blue low-top Vans Old Skool skate shoes.

He also had his short brown locks dishevelled as he sported a beard during the relaxed day out.

Not only did he show his gentlemanly side by carrying Diane's large black quilted leather Chanel bag but he also offered up his arm for his ladylove to hold on to during the walk.

No doubt the power couple were enjoying the casual day out together after hitting a few red carpet events during the Toronto Film Festival last week as they attended the premiere of her latest flick, Disorder, on Thursday.

As the couple have been together since 2006, they are often asked to justify why they aren't planning to marry, in spite of their obvious commitment.

Joshua recently told GLAMOUR magazine: 'I can tell you why we're not married: we're not religious. I don't feel any more or less committed to Diane for not having stood in front of a priest and had a giant party.

'We're both children of divorce, so it's hard for me to take marriage at face value as the thing that shows you've grown up and are committed to another person.'

Tri-lingual beauty Diane - who can speak German, French and English - wed actor Guillaume Canet in 2001, before they split in 2006. He is now in a long-term relationship with Oscar-winner Marion Cotillard.
