She's the proud mother of two children.

And Sarah Michelle Gellar was game to indulge in her playful side when she attended the Mattel Party On The Pier in Santa Monica with her son Rocky, three, on Sunday.

The 38-year-old, who hosted the seaside bash, was bohemian chic in a flowing black-and-white floral print dress that had sheer sleeves.

Sarah's gold and highlighted hair was pulled back into a low ponytail for the event, no doubt a sensible hairdo for her active day out.

Her famous face radiated with a smooth finish of foundation and pink lip gloss, she finished off the outfit with suede ankle boots.

Once inside the bash, it seemed Sarah couldn't stop smiling.

The former Buffy The Vampire Slayer star tried out the bean bag toss, and even practiced her aim as she threw a basketball for another game.

The actress lifted the basketball high up into the air before giving her best shot.

Sarah also lifted her son Rocky in her arms, who appeared to be ready to give the game a go as well with the basketball in his hands.

The actress was also joined by former Saved By The Bell actor Mark-Paul Gosselaar, who hovered close by Sarah's shoulder before she made her shot.

During a breather away from the games, Sarah took to the stage to give what appeared to be a spirited talk to the audience.

Sarah continued to praise the event when she took to Instagram that day.

The bash is now in its sixteenth year and aids programs designed for children who are being treated at Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA, according to the website.

Not pictured with Sarah was her husband Freddie Prinze Jr.

The couple, who recently celebrated their 13th wedding anniversary, met while working on 1997's teen horror film, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and began dating in 2000.

Sarah and the She's All That actor tied the knot in Mexico in 2002 and have two kids together, Charlotte, six, and Rocky.

In 2002, the couple starred opposite one another as love interests Fred and Daphne in the live action production of Scooby Doo.

Sarah's most recent TV series was The Crazy Ones, a sitcom about an advertising agency, starring opposite the late Robin Williams.

She next has a role in an episode of the comedy show Those Who Can't, which is now in post-production and scheduled for release in 2016.
