The duo were barely able to control themselves as the redheaded royal left students delighted when he turned up in his full military uniform.

The Prince, who has dedicated a lot of his time to army rehabilitation projects, flew into the school by helicopter.

Once inside, he inspected the ceremonial parade and presented medals to five of the schoolchildren at the boarding school, which has a rich military history.

The royal candidly discussed his decision to join the army during his visit.

The 30-year-old, who left the forces in June after a decade-long military career, which included two tours of Afghanistan, explained that serving in the army gave him respite from the limelight.

According to HELLO! magazine, the redheaded royal said: 'I did it because since I was a kid I enjoyed wearing the combats, I enjoyed running around with a rifle, jumping in a ditch and living in the rain, and stuff.

'But then when I grew up, it became more than that. It became an opportunity for me to escape the limelight.'

Harry, who left students delighted as he turned up in his full military uniform, explained that his ten years in the army were 'epic' and he had 'great fun', which he can 'never thank them enough for'.

Prince Harry couldn't hide his disappointment as brother William celebrated with wife Kate after the most incredible of comebacks saw Wales pull-off a stunning 28-25 victory at Twickenham on Friday night.

Dejected at the full-time whistle, Harry - wearing a white England replica top - stood with his hands on his hips and eyes to the sky, while his brother and sister-in-law jumped around jubilantly.

The Duke of Cambridge had earlier refused to hold back as he joined 30,000 visiting fans in singing the Welsh national anthem, decked out in a red Wales zip-up jacket.

Just moments earlier, Harry showed his unity to the hosts by singing God Save The Queen.

But the rugby mad royal couldn't help but pull dagger eyes at his older brother as he put his all into a spine-tingling rendition of Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau, the iconic Welsh hymn.

The brothers were seen in the stands just days after William urged Wales to beat England - if only to keep his brother quiet.

Last week,  Prince Harry joined brother William in Manchester to help rejuvenate a street for Armed Forces veterans in just three weeks by the BBC's DIY SOS team.

So far they are ten days into the project, working 12- hour days in a bid to get it finished on time.

Eight buildings are undergoing top to toe renovation, many with injured personnel in mind, whilst the facades of the other 62 houses and the street itself are being rejuvenated.

The redevelopment will also see a support centre built on the street, to be run by the Walking With The Wounded charity and the Royal British Legion, to assist ex-servicemen and women with retraining and on-site support for those who have been injured - mentally or physically - while in the Armed Forces.
