'It makes me nervous': Kim Zolciak overcomes fear of public speaking with a little help of liquid courage on Don't Be Tardy

Kim Zolciak faced her fears and agreed to a public speaking engagement on Sunday night's episode of Don't Be Tardy.

The reality star took to the stage at a Women's Expo event in her hometown of Atlanta with the help of a few slugs of wine.

Asked by assistant Gloria whether she had prepared for her speech, she said: 'No I haven't. Why would I?

'I think I'm just going to go out there and go with it. Let's bring some wine so when I get there I can have a glass of wine. Wine makes everything OK.'

Kim initially was horrified when Gloria told organisers she might be interested in being a keynote speaker at the woman's expo.

The former star of The Real Housewives Of Atlanta told her assistant the answer should always be no because she was terrified of speaking in public.

'It makes me nervous. I don't like all eyes on me believe it or not,' Kim insisted.

She told the camera: 'I have ADD so bad and nobody's going to be able to follow me because I can't even follow myself. I need meds.'

Gloria and Kim's family eventually talked her around, but she was horrified to learn she would be speaking for half an hour.

'Thirty minutes is a long f***ing time,' she said. 'Can I drink there?'

As she practised speaking in front of her family she asked how long she had been talking – only to find she hadn't even hit the 30-second mark.

'I was only at 23 seconds and I wanted to cut my head off and grow myself a scab,' she told husband Kroy Biermann.

Kim was left open mouthed when the expo organiser revealed she would be speaking for 48 minutes rather than 30.

But when she took to the stage, admitting she was out of her comfort zone, she received a rapturous welcome.

Kim, who fought back tears as she spoke about her daughters, told the audience: 'Little did I know at 12-years-old that I was a manifestor.

'I was saying I wanted to be famous and I wanted to be on TV. I only wanted that because I was being bullied at school by a girl named Lisa.

'I said ''I'm going to be famous some day and I'm going to come back for her''. Thank god for Facebook because she looks terrible.'

After the crowd clapped and cheered her speech, Kim said: 'I really enjoyed it and hopefully in the future I'll do more of it.'

Kim also agreed to help daughter Brielle get into the world of television after the teenager revealed she wanted to be the next Giuliana Rancic.

'I want to be like Giuliana Rancic and host E news and red carpet events like the Golden Globes and Academy Awards,' Brielle said.

'E News I think I'd be really good at because I love finding out new things that happen,' Brielle said.

When Brielle told her parents she wanted to major in communications at college, they suggested she start preparing and practicing.

While Kim offered to call a couple of her 'celebrity friends', Kroy said: 'You've got to start building your resume and that's through college, that's through interviews, that's through internships. There's a process to that.'

Kim, who had earlier admitted she was worried sick about whether Brielle would graduate from high school, took her to see her recording artist friend Monica for a practice interview.

The mother of six watched proudly as Brielle asked the singer about her childhood, inspiration and new album.
