Jackson and his half-brother, Vance Roberts, were out on bond awaiting their trial when the fled Washington County, Oregon, in 1991
'It's what started this,' Wahlstrom told CNN. 'It was a specific tip that came in right after (the episode) aired that led authorities to him in Guadalajara.'
An episode covering Jackson and his half-brother, Vance Roberts, was released earlier this year.
The episode came about when two women came forward with a plea to find Jackson, claiming they had both been kidnapped and raped by the brothers while being held in their Hillsboro, Oregon home for several days.
Andrea Hood was just 17 years old when the men grabbed her while she was soliciting herself for prostitution in 1990, she said.
She claims the men chained her to a bed and raped her repeatedly before she escaped the home by climbing through a window she had broken with the butt of a gun.
She was able to find a police station in Hillsboro, Oregon, and pointed police to the home, where they found Polaroids of Hood and other women. The police arrested Roberts and Jackson.
Officers were able to identify another victim, Michaelle Dierich, from photographs at the house. She had come to the police two years earlier but didn't have enough information about the men to lead to an arrest at the time.
Roberts turned himself in to police in 2006 after appearing on an episode of America's Most Wanted. He was sentenced to 108 years in prison
While free on bond while awaiting their trial in February 1991, the two men fled and police were unable to locate them for several years.
But in September 2006 America's Most Wanted ran a feature on the men, and after 15 years on the run, Roberts turned himself into the Washington County Jail.
While in police custody, however, he wouldn't say anything about the whereabouts of his brother.
Though Roberts claimed the women stayed with him voluntarily, a jury found him guilty of rape and kidnapping charges and sentenced him to 108 years in prison.
When an episode of The Hunt featuring the brothers ran in July, tips about Jackson's whereabouts came into fruition.
Jackson was arrested on his way to work at an electronics store in Guadalajara.
A date for his return to the United States has not been set.
