'I'm a sexier version': Nikki Reed oozes glamour in summer dress as she is tasked to bring sex appeal to Sleepy Hollow

She's certainly qualified for the job.

And on Monday Nikki Reed revealed she has been tasked to bring sex appeal to her new show Sleepy Hollow as American icon Betsy Ross.

The 27-year-old actress was spotted leaving the Today Show that same day after visiting with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.

The brunette beauty left her silky locks flow past her shoulders and looked lovely in a full-length, flowing gown with hints of lavender and orange which she paired with gold strappy heels. 

Reed went with natural makeup to highlight her flawless complexion which she paired with a smokey matte eye and light pink lip. 

Nikki made her big screen debut 12 years ago in the critically acclaimed, Thirteen which she co-wrote in only six days, as reported by Gifford.

Reed is cast in the new series as flag maker and spy, Betsy Ross yet Nikki proclaims her version has been updated.

'I'm not your typical Betsy, not the one you would envision,' Reed explained. 'Not the one in the rocking chair.'

'It's our own take on Betsy so she's kind of a kick-ass, sexier version.'

Nikki went on to explain, 'They really do such a good job of combining historical facts with such accuracy and they combine that with entertainment.'

'You mean you actually learning something? Wow, what a concept,' Kathie Lee exclaimed.

Hoda teased back, 'She flirts with danger...and her lover, Ichabod Crane.'

Sleepy Hollow follows the story of Ichabod Crane, played by Tom Mison, who is resurrected and pulled through time to unravel a mystery that dates all the way back to the founding fathers.

Reed has been shooting in Atlanta where coincidentally her new husband since this past April, Ian Somerhalder is based for work, as well.

'Somehow we joked that we manifested this because we work, like 15 minutes from each other,' Nikki revealed.
