This year has been full of ups and downs for Avril, who split in early September from her husband, 40-year-old singer Chad Kroeger. The couple were married for only two years before their separation.

She announced the news on her Instagram account, revealing that although their marriage was over, the two still cared for each other.

The Nickelback singer was a supportive husband during her recovery, flying back and forth from his tour to be by her side.
