An addict who has been out on probation after being arrested in a raid on the home of actor Phillip Seymour Hoffman’s former drug dealer last year was thrown in jail Tuesday for allegedly selling heroin.

Max Rosenblum, 24, allegedly violated the conditions of his probation by offering an undercover police officer drugs in Manhattan in early August.

When questioned about his job status and living arrangements, the 24-year-old reportedly lied that he was an engineer and that he lived on his own.

Rosenblum, his ex-girlfriend Juliana Luchkiw, 23, and jazz musician Robert Vineberg were arrested in February 2014 during an investigation into Hoffman's high-profile drug-overdose death.

The trio were suspected of dealing drugs out of Vineberg’s apartment on Mott Street in Manhattan where the 46-year-old Capote star had been seen before his February 2 death, according to an informant.

The raid on Vineberg's home netted 300 baggies of heroin, earning him a felony charge of heroin possession with intent to sell.

Rosenblum and Luchkiw were each charged only with a misdemeanor count of possessing cocaine.

In March of that year, the young junkie avoided prison by pleading guilty to the cocaine possession charge.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Edward McLaughlin reminded Rosenblum at the time that he could have received a sentence of up to a year; instead, he was getting two years' probation.

‘Max was blessed today with a second chance to remain at liberty and focus on rehabilitation, education and his bright future,’ said defense lawyer Daniel Hochheiser after the March hearing.

On Tuesday, Judge McLaughlin said he's had enough with Rosenblum, accusing the bespectacled, nose-ring wearing defendant of 'trying to scam the system,' reported the New York Post.

McLaughlin then ordered Rosenblum remanded to jail as the man's parents looked on from the audience.

Last month, Robert Vineberg, 58, was sentenced to five years’ probation after he agreed to plead guilty to low-level drug charge as part of a deal with the prosecution.

The Canadian musician was never charged with playing a role in Hoffman’s heroin-and-cocaine overdose death.
