Makeup free Rachel Hunter, 45, works laid-back style in baggy blouse and over-sized ripped jeans during leisurely shopping trip

She has graced the pages of Sports Illustrated, Vogue and Harper's Bazaar.

But former swimsuit model Rachel Hunter almost blended-in with the crowd on Monday as she stepped out for a spot of shopping in Beverly Hills wearing a baggy top and ripped denim jeans.

Rachel, 46, kept her famous physique hidden underneath the loose fitting attire and completed her look with a large scarf and black flip flops.

Tying her blonde locks up into a messy bun, the New Zealand-born beauty shielded her eyes from the sun with black shades and carried a patterned red bag.

Taking to her Instagram page hours later, the iconic Oceanic model revealed she was struggling to recover from the flu.

Sharing a picture of some soup, she wrote: ‘Still have flu… Got my vege chicken soup from @erewhonmarket then got some parsley, mint, sage, rosemary out of my garden. Also my very first homegrown jalapeño to spice it up.’

The swimsuit model found fame in 1989 after appearing in a saucy Sports Illustrated spread and went on to marry rocker Rod Stewart, who was more than twice her age, a year later.

The pair separated in 1999, and their divorce was eventually finalised in 2006.

After splitting from her rocker beau, Rachel went on to date a slew of high profile stars, including Oasis singer Liam Gallagher, pop star Robbie Williams and bald Die Hard hunk Bruce Willis.

These days she has been focusing on her two kids with ex-husband Rod, Renee Stewart, 23, and Liam Stewart, 20.

In February, the leggy brunette appeared on the cover of high society fashion bible Tatler, followed by an appearance in UK magazine HELLO! in July.

Speaking to the publication, she said: 'I'm proud of where I come from. I grew up in such an artistic family, but of course you want to build your own identity. I think that's important for any human being.'
