On Sex And The City, Cynthia Nixon played a savvy lawyer who walked the streets of New York in a power suit.

These days, the 49-year-old actress is opting for a more casual look, choosing to go makeup free while running errands in Manhattan on Tuesday.

But there is one thing the actress has in common with her Sex And The City character. Just like Miranda Hobbes, she loves keeping her hair short.

Fans who are used to seeing Cynthia glammed up for red carpet appearances may not recognize her fresh faced look. 

The Warm Springs star was spotted wearing loose navy trousers, a simple beige blouse and flats while taking her son to school. Her wife is Christine Marinoni.

She added dangling earrings and a printed bag to her day look as she made her way through the city. The actress looked notably distracted, keeping her eyes on her phone during her errands run.

The Adderall Diaries actress, who married Christine in 2012, is mom to three kids, two of which are from her previous marriage with school teacher Danny Mozes.

Cynthia became a parent again when Christine gave birth in 2011 to their son Max.

In her most recent film, A Quiet Passion, the breast cancer survivor plays poet Emily Dickinson.

Meanwhile, her Sex And The City co-star Sarah Jessica Parker was seen out with her kids that same day in the Big Apple as well.

The blonde looked casual in jeans and clogs as she held hands with her twins.
