Bindi added to her colourful look with a matching headband, while open toe sandals rounded things off.

The wildlife conservationist was preparing for her latest performance after injuring her ankle while rehearsing for the show with professional dance partner Derek Hough on Saturday.

Leaning into her American boyfriend's chest, she appeared smitten as they made their way into the studio.

Chandler, 18, has been a constant support to the young Australian as she continues to impress on the hugely popular show.

Sharing a black-and-white snap of the pair on Sunday, Bindi cooed: 'Thank you for always making me laugh, helping me to ice my foot when it hurts, making me tea and hugging me when I'm tired. You're amazing.'

The reunited couple have found themselves having to endure a long-distance romance - Chandler's career often sees him jetting across the globe, whilst Bindi has always been based in Queensland.

In a recent interview with Us Weekly, she revealed that when they are apart, the duo often keep in contact the old-fashioned way, as she loves to write, as well as via Facetime and Skype.

She also admitted in the interview that she isn't the only one in her family that has a soft spot for Chandler.

'My brother approves. I don't know who loves him more - me or Robert,' she said.

Bindi met the sportsman when he arrived at then Irwin family's Australia Zoo whilst holidaying with his family.

'He tracked me down through the zoo and was like "If she doesn't want to stay in contact that's totally fine, but here's my email', she said.

'We stayed in touch and became great friends. I can't really say when it turned into more. It just evolved over time and bloomed into this wonderful thing.'

The teenager won high praise from dance partner Derek on Monday night – after learning a complicated quickstep in two just days.

Bindi, the daughter of deceased Crocodile Hunter Steve Irwin, had also been struggling with a foot injury – which had hampered her rehearsal efforts.

The wildlife warrior had plenty to live up to - after being dubbed the ‘fan favourite’ and rising to the top of the leaderboard last week. But her head start was thwarted when her allocated music was swapped at the last minute.

‘The producers couldn’t get clearance for The Jetsons theme tune in time,’ said Derek backstage. ‘That gives us two days for a totally different dance.

Bindi, who had never danced formerly before the competition, had been putting on a brave face with a sore foot - but she was required to perform in heals for the tough routine.

Despite their setbacks the duo received four 8s from the panel – giving them 32 points out of 40.

‘You have such great energy, I know everyone in this ballroom loves you,’ said Alfonso Ribeiro, aka Carlton from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, who was a guest judge for the night.

‘Just make sure that posture is in line…bring that but* in a little bit,’ added the actor and former DWTS contestant.

Julianne Hough called them ‘a joy to watch’ but decided that it was not their best dance of the season so far.

‘I love your energy, but you have to learn to control it,’ agreed flamboyant judge Bruno Tonioli.

‘You can’t bounce all the time in the quickstep,’ he added, while pointing out their loss of frame.

Derek however was thrilled: ‘I’m in absolute awe of this woman, this girl, she’s amazing,’ he gushed, giving her a theatrical bow.

‘I can’t believe it, it’s miraculous,’ he added.

Breathless after the dance Bindi seemed confident she’d be even livelier next week.

‘I’m sure my foot will be better by then,’ she said with a grin.
