Wearing her locks cascading around her shoulders, she looked relaxed as she sat down to give her talk.

It was all part of the model's promotional work for her new book Becoming Cindy.

She has been pushing the tome hard - which is a collection of photographs as well as her thoughts and writings.

Earlier in the day Cindy had oozed sex appeal in a royal blue jumpsuit as she entered the Good Morning America studios in New York.

While sitting down with Lara Spencer, the beauty confessed she is dreading turning 50 years old in February. 'It's hard! I don't like those big numbers!' the brunette bombshell - who is promoting her new book Becoming - said. 'But then the day comes and goes and I'm like, "Wait I'm the same person."'

The Versace model added, 'Doing the book made me dread it not quite as much.'

As for why she chose the format she did - her book is a combination of a diary and a photo essay - she said, 'I never wanted to write a book because I didn't want to do a biography or a giant coffee table book that just collects dust.

'So I did this to celebrate turning 50.'

The stunner looked svelte in her plunging royal blue number that had gold studs on it. Shiny gold stiletto pumps added a bit of glitz to her look and matched her bangle bracelet.

The Fair Game actress had her glam down with her hair parted on the side with loose, beachy waves cascading down her shoulder.

On Monday she was on Late Night with Seth Meyers, and talked about her daughter Kaia, 14, who has also done a bit of modelling.

'Fortunately, she does listen to my advice. It's the one place where she might listen to me for a while,' Cindy said.

She also said that knowledge flowed both ways as her daughter teaches her about social media.

'I learn a lot from her. Like one hashtag only and not too many tweets in one day,' Cindy said.

Seth flipped through the 256-page book and asked Cindy for more information on some of the photos.

She pointed out that one of the images showed her first test shoot and noted it was 'over styled' with a kimono, cat and umbrella in the shot.

Cindy said the hair stylist on the shoot recommended her to the Elite Model Management agency that helped spark her career.

And Cindy Crawford has dealt with the probes about her four-year marriage to American actor Richard Gere with the utmost dignity.

In a new interview with Porter Magazine, she was characteristically coy about the pair's relationship but revealed she 'learned a lot from' him, especially when it came to the tricks of the celebrity trade.

The supermodel said: 'I didn’t want [her new book Becoming] to be a tell-all or an autobiography. It was important to me to share only stories that had a message or a lesson that had a universal appeal...

'Look, I learned a lot from Richard. I learned about how to be famous. Again, that’s not a universal lesson. And a lot of the personal things, everything else I learned from that, were for me.'

The mother-of-two, who is now married to Rande Gerber, explained exactly why Richard, 66, is distinctly absent from her autobiographical book - Becoming - in which she shares particularly meaningful stories and lessons she's learned.

Candidly, she said: 'It’s not something I want to share. If I felt that there was a great good that could come of it, I might have shared more, but I didn’t think that there was anything for other people to learn or benefit from. And I wanted to be respectful.'
