And it may be a family affair, as Chelsea added that she would like her father, former President Bill Clinton, to get in on the fun and match Charlotte's costume.

'Maybe my dad could be a gardener or something,' she said. 'I don't know what goes with ladybug.'

Meanwhile, Bill told E! that he will gladly go trick-or-treating with his granddaughter this year, revealing that Chelsea had her wear a Halloween costume last year as well.

'She was barely a month old and Chelsea put her in a bumblebee outfit,' he said.

Charlotte celebrated her first birthday in New York City on Saturday with a party balloon-filled party held at Apple Seeds, an indoor playground.

Hillarly Clinton took a break from the campaign trail to attend the party the party with her husband Bill, and she couldn't help but brag about the little girl's major milestone on Monday.

During a Facebook Q&A yesterday, a supporter asked the presidential candidate how the 'greatest grandaughter in history of time' is doing, and Hillary took the opportunity to praise Charlotte.

'So glad you agree with me! She's great,' she responded. 'We had a birthday party for her when she turned one on Saturday and she had her first taste of cake. She's such a wonderful little person.'

The night of Charlotte's party, Chelsea shared a rare private moment with her daughter on Twitter. In the hear-warming black and white photo, Chelsea can be seen reading Charlotte a bedtime story.

'Last book for Charlotte before bedtime on her first birthday! Marc & I are so grateful every day to be her parents,' she said.

During an appearance on Live! With Kelly and Michael in March, Chelsea spoke candidly about reading the newspaper to her daughter every morning, part of an ongoing family tradition that was started by her parents.

'We read the headlines. Right now she agrees with me on everything,' she said, joking that their mutual agreement is 'probably not going to last forever'.

The former first daughter, who started having mock debates with her parents when she was just six-years-old, told hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan that she grew up reading the local newspaper, the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.

And now, as a mom, she reads Charlotte headlines from NPR, BBC, The New York Times and The Wall Street Journal, among others.

'I hope it's a tradition that we can continue - what my parents started with me, ensuring that I felt invested and engaged in what was happening in our state, our city and our country,' she said.
