It was a night where The Sound Of Music was going to be ringing in the air.
So it is somewhat appropriate Oscar-winners Hilary Swank and Julie Andrews stole the show at the grand season opening gala of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra on Tuesday night.
The Next Karate Kid star looked in fine form indeed as a lady in red, drawing gasps as she sauntered down the red carpet at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in a figure-flattering gown.

Single Hilary would certainly not have been short of offers after her stunning appearance at the gala occasion.
The 41-year-old was looking great for her age in the shimmering strapless ruby red gown, which showcased her toned arms and chest to great effect.
Million Dollar Baby favourite Hilary married Chad Lowe in 1997 before they ended up officially divorcing in 2007.
Hilary then dated her agent John Campisi from 2006, but the couple ended up splitting in the summer of 2012.

The classy English actress wore a trendy black trouser suit that would have made Democrat presidential hopeful jealous.
Other big names in attendance at the exciting events included saucy redhead Bryce Dallas Howard, Latina lovely Mia Maestro and busty actress Alex Meneses.
