Victoria Beckham reveals fading tattoo tribute to husband David as the couple attend charity events on different continents

She had the Hewbrew marking inked on her sixth wedding anniversary to David Beckham.

And though their love is still strong, Victoria Beckham's neck tattoo is fading fast, as she demonstrated on Monday night with her hair twisted into a chic chignon.

The mum-of-four, stepping out for the formal ladies luncheon for Fashion 4 Development in New York, indicated that while her husband's tattoo collection is still growing, her body art is something that she's trying to leave behind.

Fading fast: Victoria Beckham revealed that her neck tattoo - a dedication to husband David - is fading fast on Monday night as she wore her hair up in an elegant chignon for the formal ladies luncheon for Fashion 4 Development in New York

Covered up: In a high neck dress, the designer revealed just a hint of the fast-fading inking peeping beneath her hairline
Back then: The permanent inking had the same message as husband David's

Now and then: The couple had hebrew tattoos (seen here on Monday, left, and in February 2007, right) on their sixth wedding anniversary and it is said to mean 'I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine'

Victoria's tattoo reads, 'Ani l’dodi li va’ani lo haro’eh bashoshanim' which is said to translate to 'I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.'

David's tribute is printed on his arm, with his latest permanent designs being dedicated to his eldest son Brooklyn and youngest child Harper, just this year.

The former footballer - who has been married to Victoria for 16 years now - has a tapestry of designs from full sleeve tattoos to artwork on his hands and pectorals.

Rocky patch: It has been reported that David and Victoria have hit a 'rocky patch' in their marriage after pictures of him looking stoney faced after her Dover Street anniversary emerged last week

Rumours of a 'rocky patch' between one of Britain's best-loved couples hit the headlines this weekend when he was seen looking angry as he escorted her from her Dover Street fashion store after its anniversary party.

The couple, who have four children together but are now rarely seen together, are reportedly in disagreement about whether the family base should be in LA or London, considering her ties with the British fashion scene and their Stateside family life.

Though an insider reassured The Daily Mail's Alison Boshoff this week that they're experiencing what any other couple does.

‘The Beckhams’ marriage has always been gossiped about,' explained the source. 'And of course a lot of what is said about them isn’t true.

‘Any marriage takes work and when you’ve been together for as long as David and Victoria have, and you’re living your life under a public microscope, there are always going to be testing times.

‘It’s true that they don’t seem to be very happy at the moment. At the party David appeared stressed and on edge, while Victoria looked to me like she was tipsy. She is also looking very thin — which is telling as her weight always plummets when she and David are going through a rocky patch.’

On Monday night, while David was back in the UK and flying solo on the red carpet for London's Pride Of Britain Awards, Victoria was in the States for the annual fashion luncheon.

Fashion designer Victoria seemed to want to cover up her neck tattoo as she walked the red carpet in a high neck dress; just a hint of the fast-fading inking peeping beneath her hairline.

Victoria was there to accept the annual Fashion 4 Development Award and maintained her air of classic elegance in her go-to, black.

Clad in a sophisticated yet feminine black dress lightly embellished with buttons at the neck, she was a walking advertisement for her own chic designs.

The singer turned designer has an eye for deceptively simple styling.

And Victoria certainly proved the perfect clothes horse as she modeled her dress alongside Fashion 4 Development founder Evie Evangelou.

Evie presented Victoria with a gong for her pivotal role as Good Will Ambassador on behalf of UNAIDS, recognizing her work across the globe, from Africa to Asia, to raise awareness on HIV and AIDS and bring the disease back on the public agenda.

'Working with UNAIDS over the past year has been an incredible education for me and I am humbled that my contribution to raising awareness for HIV and AIDS related challenges, has been acknowledged in this way.

'I believe if we empower women and educate the next generation we can truly believe in an AIDS free future.'

Joining 41-year-old Victoria at the elegant bash was supermodel Naomi Campbell, who wore a white dress that showed off her perfect figure.

Other guests included Diane Kruger, who was pretty in florals, and Queen Ramia of Jordan.

The high-powered group must be running out of things to chat about, having spent the weekend rubbing shoulders at a series of events.

Indeed just 24 hours earlier Victoria and Queen Ramia were both attendees at this year’s Social Good Summit.

Victoria - who is a UN International Goodwill Ambassador - was busy raising awareness about HIV and Aids.

She took to her social media sites to share updates from the event, and captioned one post: ‘The response to HIV since 2000 has averted 30mil new HIV infections and nearly 8mil deaths #UNGA #globalgoals @unaids.’

Meanwhile her husband - football star David Beckham - has been showing his support as he took to his Instagram page to write: 'Proud of my wife today speaking at the UN Head quarters.

'Powerful speech along with some other incredible and powerful women on that stage ... Right to the point about Our fight against HIV / AIDS @unitednations @unicef @victoriabeckham.'

The 40-year-old was unable to support Victoria as she accepted her award, as he himself was busy attending the Pride Of Britain Awards show back home in London.

And Victoria seemed keen to catch up with her husband, heading off to the airport after her duties in New York were completed.

After a pit stop at her hotel, she changed into another black outfit of trousers and a shirt before heading home.
