Television's golden curl! Fun-loving Kate Garraway gets carried away with a frizzy blonde wig as she leaves GMB

Kate Garraway rarely deviates from straight blonde tresses and a classic beauty look. 

But the Good Morning Britain presenter was seen heading for the Global Radio studios with a new curly hairstyle on Wednesday afternoon; completing a daring look with a slick of berry gloss.

Lucky for the 48-year-old, Kate was only experimenting with the style temporarily and later admitted to 'playing dress up.'

She wrote: 'Having so much fun @SmoothRadio playing dress up getting ready for #makesomenoise - like the wig?!!!!' 

Kate smiled as she arrived for her radio show sporting the oversized mass of platinum curls atop her head.

She paired it with a quilted leather jacket and fitted jeans, almost sampling a Sandy Olsen or Dolly Parton image with peep toe heels on her feet.

Kate was bright and breezy despite rising in the early hours for her regular Good Morning Britain role that day.

Things were slightly more serious on the breakfast television scene nevertheless, and Kate was tasked with interviewing Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.

The talk came just one day after the new figurehead gave his first speech, a memorable one that received a positive response.

GMB presenter Kate and her co-star Susanna Reid had put on an impressive display the previous morning when they followed up a late night at the Pride Of Britain Awards with yet another show.

Asked how she appeared so fresh, she tweeted: 'It took a lot of coffee but so worth it #PrideOfBritain - what a night x'

On the red carpet, the pair had dazzled in patriotic navy blue and red numbers, hanging out together to prove their friendship extends beyond the sofa.
