He did it! Matt Damon is FINALLY a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live after decade of being bumped... but only after disguising himself as TV's Dr. Phil

Matt Damon disguised himself as Dr. Phil just so he could get onto Jimmy Kimmel's late night show to promote his new film The Martian.

The two have a long-running feud stretching back a decade with Kimmel, 47, consistently bumping the Bourne Identity star with the words: 'Apologies to Matt Damon, we ran out of time.'

But on Monday night's show, Damon, 44, finally made it as a guest on ABC's Jimmy Kimmel Live after the pair participated in a couples therapy session to try and resolve their differences.

When Kimmel introduced his next guest, Dr. Phil McGraw, Damon walked out on stage in a fake bald head and mustache making folksy remarks in a Texan drawl.

'I'll tell you what Jimmy, a squirrel in a top hat is like a donkey in a dress,' he counseled. 'Now don't make a pig out of a peanut, Jimmy.'

The bemused talk show host asked: 'Seriously, what are you doing here? It's supposed to be Dr. Phil.'

Damon responded that Kimmel had said during a therapy session he could be the guest on the show.

Kimmel said that's not what happened and played the videotaped session.

Sitting next to the talk show host on a sofa, Damon revealed to the female therapist that for the past 10 years, he has come to the studio every night and waited in a dressing room assigned to him by Kimmel.

But he's never made it onto the show.

Kimmel explained it's just hard to fit everything into a one-hour telecast.

'We have other guests. I have a monologue to do. I have a band,' he said. 'Listen, I understand his point of view, but he has to understand my point of view.

Damon expressed his frustration that his pal always turns things around to make him look like the bad guy.

'He is verbally abusive to me and couches it as truth,' Damon said.

The hilarious skit ended with Kimmel promising to keep trying to get the actor onto the show and Damon committed to waiting 'another 12 years.'
