The man who's been on SIXTEEN stag dos in just three months - all with complete strangers

  • Will Stevenson, 35, from Nottingham likes going on stag dos with strangers
  • The office manager spent £10,000 partying on 16 trips in three months
  • He fills in when a stag's friend can't make it and takes their plane ticket

Most men would prefer to do a maximum of two foreign stag dos in any given year.

But one Brit has spent the last three months racking up 31,000 air miles by going on stag dos with complete strangers.

Reminiscent of the film The Wedding Ringer, Will Stevenson has become the go-to man for prospective grooms who have a spare space on their stag.

Since going on his first weekend to Budapest in June, Stevenson, 35, has now travelled all across Europe, including to Munich, Rome and three times to Ibiza.

But although the office manager usually just has to front the cost for changing the name on a flight, he also has to pay his way when on the trips, which he estimates has cost £10,000 across 16 stags.

He said: 'It first started when I bid on a place on a stranger's stag do in June.

'One of the groom's mates dropped out, so they auctioned his seat.'

He continued: 'I had a free weekend and was thinking about going to a festival but thought this would be a laugh.

'I never expected to win, but the day after the auction closed I was going to Budapest with 22 lads I'd never met before.

'It was a bit scary to start with but once we got to know each other it was a great laugh.'

Stevenson's exploits on that first stag caught the attention of Radio 1 DJ Scott Mills, who chronicled the trip on his show.

After that coverage, he was inundated with requests from grooms wanting him to fill a vacant spot on their pre-nuptial party.

In just three short months Stevenson has jetted off to Madrid, Barcelona twice, Magaluf twice, Gran Canaria, Amsterdam twice, Tenerife and even Blackpool.

In one of his multiple trips to the White Isle, Stevenson even got to party with DJs David Guetta, Pete Tong and Axwell and Ingrosso.

He said: 'The last few months have been absolutely non-stop - I feel like I've spent the last 12 weeks either partying or in airports.

'Some of the stags overlapped, especially in Ibiza, so when one group was leaving I'd be staying behind for more madness.

'I used up my holiday allowance pretty quickly but fortunately my job is quite flexible.'

Throughout his travels, Will has been joined by a mascot - Seth the badger - who had been with him to festivals and concerts before this madness began.

After gaining recognition at a George Ezra concert with the hashtag #seththebadger, Will chronicles his crazy antics on his Twitter page, @Willhasabadger.

He said: 'At first Seth created a bit of tension.

'Before that first stag, the other lads found my Twitter and noticed I carried a badger around.

'In a Facebook group they added me to they'd made a few comments about it being weird.

'But we got past that, and he's become a focal point in his own right.'

There's no slowing down for Will over the next few months as he has a further three stags booked, including ones to Las Vegas and Melbourne.

But despite clocking up more than one full circumnavigation of the globe,Will reveals that he is actually very scared of flying.

He added: 'Believe it or not, before I fly I hate the thought, but a few vodkas in the airport settle my nerves.

'I never tell the stags before I go on, then it's too late.'
