L.L. Cool J.'s son 'arrested by New York City police after he fought with bouncers at trendy night spot and refused to leave'

L.L. Cool J.'s son Najee Smith has been arrested in New York following a disturbance at a trendy nightspot in the city.

Cops were called to the Catch Rooftop night club in the early hours of Tuesday morning, according to the New York Daily News, after the 26-year-old refused to leave and fought with bouncers.

The news report claimed he's been celebrating his birthday and was intoxicated when he arrived at the rooftop venue above Catch restaurant in the Meatpacking District.

The Daily News also reported that the son of the rapper and actor faces criminal trespass charges following the 3:15 a.m. altercation.

Catch Rooftop's Monday night party from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. hosts fashion models and celebrities and, according to the newspaper, bottle service ranges from $400 to $600 and tables can cost up to $1,600.

Smith is the eldest child of the NCIS: Los Angeles star and host of Spike TV's Lip Sync Battle, who has four kids with wife Simone Smith. 

He graduated from college in 2014 with a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts.

Meanwhile, LL Cool J - real name James Todd Smith - is back as Sam Hanna for a seventh season on NCIS: Los Angeles.

In an interview with EW.com, he said that the new episodes will explore new facets of his character's personal life and background.

'We find out his former partners are involved in shady deals. We just find out a lot of things. His integrity is put on the line,' he said. 'I mean, it gets crazy.'
