Taylor Swift has donated $50,000 to help the baby nephew of one of her backup dancers, who is battling cancer.

The 25-year-old made the donation on little Ayden’s GoFundMe page on Wednesday.

Taylor wrote: ‘Baby Ayden, I'm lucky enough to perform with your uncle Toshi on tour. All of us are praying for you and your mama and sending so much love your way. Love, Taylor.’

Brave little boy: Taylor Swift has donated $50,000 to the nephew of her backup dancer, who is battling cancer

The 13-month-old’s uncle Kim Toshi Davidson, who goes by Toshi, has been working with the pop star on her 1989 World Tour.

The dancer was travelling when Taylor made the generous donation, but posted his thanks on Instagram once he realised what she had done.

So I get off the plane in Toronto and this is the 1st thing I see...@taylorswift is an angel and My family and I can't thank her enough,’ Toshi wrote.

Generous: Taylor shared a sweet message to Ayden

The GoFundMe page was created on Tuesday and had been hoping to raise $20,000. Thanks to Taylor, it had raised almost $53,000 in the first day.

Ayden’s family explained in their plea for financial help that the little boy was diagnosed with cancer on Monday after spending two weeks in the intensive care unit.

Fluid was found in his lungs and doctors believed the youngster had pneumonia, but after surgery they performed further tests and diagnosed cancer.

The page adds that Ayden’s mother Lindsey ‘was let go from her job since she had to be by his side at the hospital for the past few weeks’.

Toshi shared a photo with his nephew, who he calls ‘Lil Toshi’, on Instagram on Tuesday, asking for donations.

Taylor’s mother Andrea was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year.

And helping those fighting cancer is clearly a cause very close to the Style hit-maker’s heart.

In July, Taylor donated $50,000 to 11-year-old Naomi Harris, who is battling leukaemia.

In March, the star granted four-year-old Jalene Salinas her final wish of dancing to Shake It Off with Taylor. Sadly, the young girl lost her battle with brain cancer two weeks later.

Taylor, who last year gave $50,000 to The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia to help fund music therapy for children suffering from cancer, also penned the song Ronan about a little boy who died of cancer three days before his fourth birthday.

The singer took the lyrics from the blog written by Ronan’s mother Maya. Last month, she performed it in concert for the first time, while Maya and the rest of Ronan’s family were in the audience.

Charitable: It's a cause close to Taylor's heart, especially since her mother Andrea was diagnosed with cancer. Mother and daughter are pictured in April
