Last year she married one of Hollywood's most desired eligible bachelors.

Showcasing just why her husband George Clooney fell head over heels for her, Amal Clooney stunned as she took to the streets of New York City on Wednesday.

Cutting a chic figure, which made her hard to miss, the 37-year-old looked gorgeous in a form-fitting scarlet shirt dress.

Strutting through the streets of The Big Apple, Amal looked ready to handle some business in her form fitted ensemble.

The tweed collared dress did well to show off Clooney's petite frame as it was clinched at the waist and featured tapered sleeves.

Wearing her brunette hair down in loose curls, the human rights lawyer opted she keep her make-up simple and lined her pout with a matte red lipstick.

The outing saw Amal cover up her bunions with a pair of stylish contrast stilettos.

The previous evening the Lebanese beauty enjoyed a date night with her husband George.

However as Amal took to the spotlight, it was clear to see that similar to millions of women she is not immune to the curse of bunions.

A closer inspection Clooney’s feet revealed they are not as perfect as the slender legs to which they are attached - and she is not the only women in the public with an ugly bump at the base of her big toe.

Former Spice Girl turned fashion designer Victoria Beckham, 41, and actress Sarah Jessica Parker, 50, also suffer from the painful affliction.

It is overwhelmingly a female problem, largely as a result of high heels.

A stiletto throws weight forward onto splayed out toes and forefoot, putting pinching pressure on the big toe joint.

But despite the painful swelling, Amal made for a stunning sight while flashing her slim pins in a flowing green mini dress as she arrived at the Lincoln Center for the New York Film Festival.

Meanwhile George looked in a two piece black suit teamed with a coordinate shirt and patent shoes.

Their night out proved to be a double celebration as they marked their first year of marriage with an anniversary screening of his film O Brother, Where Art Thou?
