That's a Potter money! Daniel Radcliffe puts his New York apartment up for rent at a whopping $19k a month

If his Harry Potter fortune wasn't in enough, Daniel Radcliffe is about to be quidditch in from his rental income.

The actor has put his Soho, New York apartment up for rent at $19k (£12,500k) a month with Halstead Property to boost his 'property empire'.

Daniel, 26, whose pot of money topped £68m in 2014, listed the 1,843 sq ft pad eight years after he purchased it for $4.29m (£2.8m).

The Hollywood star, best known for playing the titular character of the best-selling book-to-movie franchise, did not live at the property for long, The New York Times reports.

It is said to feature two bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms in a glass-walled building with a gym and swimming pool.

The minimalist design is contemporary with high ceilings, hardwood floors and a contemporary kitchen and stylised fixtures and fitting.

And it's not the only show-stopper in Daniel's property portfolio because he was known to have three Big Apple apartments under his belt by 2009, toppling his empire to $16.5m (£10m).

He is also thought to own a flat back on home turf in Fulham, West London but his purchases have largely been made Stateside.

Radcliffe's first New York purchase was made in 2007, a $4.8m (£3.2m) fifth-floor apartment in a 'sexy new development' in the SoHo district.

He never moved in, instead leasing it out for £3,000 a week.

In February this year, it was revealed that the actor laid claim to a secret Australian apartment in the heart of Melbourne, which he has held onto for nearly 10 years.

98B St Georges Road in Toorak was purchased for $1.8 million by Radcliffe's parents Alan Radcliffe, a casting agent, and BBC casting director Marcia Gresham, and is expected to fetch around $2.4 million.

The 25-year-old Englishman had the property bought for him by his parents in 2006 for the filming of Rod Harvy's December Boys, in which the then-16-year-old actor played an Australian orphan.

The three-bedroom property was transferred to the Kill Your Darlings actor in 2007 when he turned 18, and was made use of by family and friends when Radcliffe was occupied with projects overseas

Since his lead role in Harry Potter, Daniel has starred in horror flick The Woman In Black, rom-com What If and stage show Equus.

This year, he looks forward to a dramatic new role in Imperium having shaved his head to play FBI agent Nate Foster.

In December 2014, the actor was said to boast a fortune of £67.9 million for the year ending March 31 though he maintains that money is not a 'motivating factor in his life'.

Of his fortune, the star told Heat magazine last year: 'Money's a weird thing – I'm lucky because I've always had it so money's never been a motivating factor in my life.

'The great thing about it is because there is a certain level of stress that is removed but it doesn't solve problems in the world, or relationships or life...'

Now, Daniel shares his life between the UK and the USA but spends a large amount of his time in New York with fellow actor girlfriend Erin Darke, who he met on the set of Kill Your Darlings since 2013.
