EXCLUSIVE: Hillary Clinton's brother Tony Rodham is fingered as Ashley Madison user following hacker attack – but his doting wife insists 'I know he has not cheated on me'

  • Rodham, 61, is in his second marriage and has two children with current wife Megan, a pediatric intensive care nurse
  • His name and credit card information were included in a database of AshleyMadison.com customers leaked online by hackers in August
  • Website is known as the 'Google of cheating' and uses the slogan: 'Life is short. Have an affair.'
  • Rodham's sister, Hillary Clinton, is the Democratic Party's presidential front-runner
  • His wife tells Daily Mail Online he has never cheated on her – but admits she knows Rodham was signed up on the website
  • One of his two credit card transactions was registered to a company named after his daughter

The August hacker attack on AshleyMadison.com, a website devoted to helping married men cheat on their wives, has snared the younger of presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton's two brothers.

Tony Rodham, who is close to the former secretary of state and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, was a registered user of the infidelity website, DailyMail.com can reveal.

The news is likely to embarrass his sister, as he has publicly worked to advance her bid to succeed President Barack Obama.

But his loyal second wife Megan Madden Rodham, a dedicated pediatric intensive care nurse with whom he has two young children, said she was aware he had signed up with the website, and that he had squared it with her already.

She insisted, however, that her husband had never actually been unfaithful.

'I know everything about Tony and everything he does online. I know all his passwords,' Mrs. Rodham said outside the palatial mansion where they live in Vienna, Virginia.

'I'm fine with it. He is not the sort of man who would take it any further,' she said, standing next to the family SUV – a Buick sporting a 'Hillary for America' bumper sticker.

'He is a good man, a good father and a good husband. You can quote me on that,' she said.

'I can't understand why you would be interested in him. He is a very private person.'

Asked whether the couple would remain together despite his membership in AshleyMadison.com, Mrs. Rodham said: 'We have been together for ten years and everything is great. Tony is a good man.'

'We are very happy and I know he has not cheated on me.'

Mr. Rodham, 61, appeared along with 37 million other sex-seeking AshleyMadison.com users in a database leaked online after hackers breached the website's 'secure' user information.

DailyMail.com can disclose that Rodham's credit card was used to join the website on April 27, 2012.

Two payments were made that day, for $168.99 each.

One transaction was recorded along with his full name and his middle initial 'D,' for Dean. Rodham provided the address he shares with his family, along with a personal MSN email address.

The other credit card payment carried a company name, 'Fiona E, LLC.'

A company by that name was registered in Delaware in 2010, but the state's Division of Corporations reports it as 'inactive.'

But the Rodhams' daughter, born in 2007, is named Fiona Elizabeth, according to the Times-Tribune in Scranton, Pennsylvania. The newspaper divulged the child's name when reporting on Bill and Hillary Clinton's attendance at a Christening held for the Rodhams' younger child.

Tony's involvement in a sex-related scandal will be familiar territory for Hillary Clinton, who has been unwittingly involved in a series of infidelities that have made her husband a legend.

President Bill Clinton nearly lost his office over the affair he carried on with White House intern Monica Lewinsky in 1995 and 1996. And a parade of women have accused him over the years of sexually harassing and abusing them.

One, Juanita Broaddrick, claims to this day that he raped her in an Arkansas hotel room.

A spokesman for Hillary's campaign did not respond to a request for comment made on Wednesday. The Clinton camp has largely steered clear of her siblings throughout her high-profile bids for elective office.

But Tony Rodham, who describes himself as a 'business consultant,' trades heavily on his association with the Clintons and uses his family connection to promote himself.

The New York Times reported in May that he was the featured speaker at a Santa Monica, California launch party held for a cosmetics line.

A promotional video that the company later released identified him as 'the youngest brother of former first lady Hillary Rodham Clinton.'

His most recent project, called Global City Regional Center, solicits foreign investors for real estate projects with the lure of special 'EB-5' visas that will let them live in the United States with green cards in exchange for their operating capital.

Typically, a minimum buy-in of $500,000 is required. This year 10,000 such visas have already been issued in the U.S., the maximum number allowed by law, In 2014, the first year when that quota was reached, more than 9,100 of the recipients were wealthy Chinese nationals.

The latest project for Rodham's firm is the the Eastern Tower Community Center in Philadelphia's North Chinatown neighborhood, described as 'a flag-ship $75 Million 23-stories mixed-use development.'

Global City Regional Center 'is seeking 66 EB5 [visa-eligible] investors in order to raise $33 Million,' according to its website.

Of the 120 words in Rodham's brief biography found there, 50 concern his ties with his famous sister and brother-in-law and the Democratic Party.

'Mr. Rodham has worked with former President Bill Clinton on all his campaigns, from the House of Representatives to the Presidential Campaigns,' the profile boasts.

'Subsequently, Mr. Rodham worked for the Democratic National Committee coordinating constituency outreach. Mr. Rodham also worked for his sister, Hillary Rodham Clinton, during her Senate and Presidential Campaigns.'

The bio adds that he studied Political Science at Iowa Wesleyan College and at the University of Arkansas, but fails to mention that he did not receive degrees from either school.

DailyMail.com showed Mrs. Rodham her husband's business development language that trades on his family connections. She insisted that 'somebody else would have written that or put that there.'

Megan is Tony's second wife; they married in the summer of 2005 at the stately Dumbarton House in Washington's famed Georgetown neighborhood, in a ceremony attended by both Bill and Hillary Clinton.

Using his first-family connections, Tony's first wedding to Nicole Boxer, daughter of California Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer, was held at the White House itself in 1994.

He has a 15-year-old son from that first marriage, in addition to the two children with his second bride.

But he was accused in 2001 of having sex with another man's girlfriend at the Rodham summer family cottage on Lake Winola, about 115 miles north of Philadelphia.

Daniel Coyne was charged with assault, burglary and trespassing after he said he saw Tony Rodham having sex with his girlfriend Kelly Quick, and then broke into the cottage to confront him.

Rodham claimed he had only been lying down on a couch with the woman, and later told a newspaper that he had wished he had been carrying a gun to defend himself.

He said later, during courtroom testimony in Coyne's trial, that he may have smoked marijuana with both him and Quick during the hours leading up to the incident.

Rodham's marriage to Ms. Boxer had already broken up in 2000 and resulted in an acrimonious alimony and child maintenance case.

A Washington judge ordered him to pay his ex-wife $75,000 in child support and $55,000 in alimony.

Months later, news reports described him as a 'deadbeat' who hadn't written the court-ordered checks.

A decade later, following a 2010 earthquake in Haiti that claimed 222,000 lives, Bill Clinton took on the role of co-chairman of the devastated country's earthquake recovery commission.

Rodham and his business partners embarked on a quest to secure a $22 million deal rebuilding homes in the stricken Caribbean country.

He admitted in unrelated court proceedings three years ago that he had leaned on his brother-in-law, the former president, for connections.

Rodham explained that 'a guy in Haiti' had 'donated' 10,000 acres of land to him and he had pressed Bill Clinton for help geting the rebuilding project funded after he met with bureaucratic roadblocks.

In a transcript of his testimony, Rodham was quoted as saying: 'I deal through the Clinton Foundation. That gets me in touch with the Haitian officials.'

'I hound my brother-in-law, because it's his fund that we're going to get our money from. And he can't do it until the Haitian government does it.'

'And he keeps telling me, "Oh, it's going to happen tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow." Well, tomorrow hasn't come yet.'

The project never came to fruition. Bill Clinton's office denied being involved in any of his brother-in-law's business pursuits in Haiti.

The Clinton Foundation also said at the time that it had no knowledge of, or involvement with, Rodham's Haiti proposals.

But the former president did help his cash-strapped relative get a $72,000-per-year job in 2010 raising investment capital for  GreenTech Automotive, an electric car company then owned by Terry McAuliffe, a former top fundraiser for Mr. Clinton – and now the governor of Virginia.

Rodham's association with the company turned controversial in March when a government investigation found GreenTech had been given special treatment in the handling of visa applications for its Chinese investors.

Rodham and McAuliffe reportedly contacted a Department of Homeland Security official and complained that the visas were being processed too slowly.

It was during the GreenTech phase of his career that Rodham signed up with AshleyMadison.com.

Hackers outed millions of the website's cheating spouses in August by publishing their personal details and sexual fantasies online.

The names, ages, addresses, phone numbers and credit card details of as many as 37 million users were revealed in a 9.7 gigabyte file called 'Time's Up!' posted on the dark web.

Bankers, civil servants, UN peacekeepers and even Vatican employees were outed by hackers calling themselves the 'Impact Team' because they consider the website's users 'cheating dirtbags.'

Ashley Madison, known as the 'Google of cheating,' called the data breach 'an act of criminality.' The FBI is investigating.

The site promises its worldwide user base complete 'anonymity' and has the motto: 'Life is short. Have an affair.'

But hackers said they exposed its members publicly because they want the site shut down.

The website's operating company has offered a $500,000 bounty to anyone who names the hackers and helps law enforcement to convict them.

Security experts warn the data breach will not only end marriages but could also leave people open to blackmail.

One married senior police officer in Texas shot himself dead in the parking lot of the church where he worshipped after his name was linked to the infidelity website.

Despite the tragedy and public humiliation for many, Ashley Madison insists its business is still flourishing. It claims hundreds of thousands of new users have signed up since hackers struck – including nearly 90,000 new women.

But DailyMail.com reported exclusively this week that 40,000 'female' profiles on the website shared just six email addresses – all of them owned by the website company itself.

Collectively, the 'fembots' send millions of come-on messages to paying male users.

Rodham, his wife insists, is no longer among the men who respond.

He rarely ventures out these days, but is sometimes seen walking with the aid of a stick.

Tony remains largely at home – at the center of his family and his two playful dogs, and close to his forgiving wife.
