But it seems the bold and beautiful Zoe Kravitz doesn't take her style so seriously, instead using her fashions to get a rise out of onlookers.

While going braless and showing off her lean physique, the 26-year-old singer/actress told the October issue of C Magazine that her current tresses were initially meant to be a joke.

'I originally did them as a joke, like an ode to the ’90s,' the daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet told the publication.

However, Zoe still believes her hairstyle holds more weight than that.

'They aren’t some symbolic thing, but it still feels important, I think, to be a brown girl with natural hair. You see blonde girls with the same hair in every movie.'

However the Lolawolf crooner doesn't define herself by her looks and insists she identifies with everything.

'I’m not auditioning for roles for white girls just to prove a point,' Zoe explained.

'I try to be color-blind and audition for roles that are for me and that I can relate to.'

Something Zoe relates to is fashion, which she definitely uses as a form of expression.

'Fashion really inspires me and always has. It triggers all kinds of memories and ideas and associations,' she continued, 'It’s just the biggest F.U. when you have confidence and you’re wearing something crazy.'

Zoe's typical outfit is monochrome and urban-inspired, revealing enough to show off her ink, which includes the phrase 'Free at last' from the mouth of the famous Martin Luther King Jr.
